Sioux Falls Teen Injured In Single-Vehicle Rollover

Hull, Iowa — A Sioux Falls teen was taken to a Rock Valley hospital following a single-vehicle rollover crash that happened in the wee hours of Saturday morning, near Hull.

Sioux County authorities say the crash occurred around 2:45 am Saturday, 4 miles northwest of Hull. Deputies say 18-year old Melina Thie of Sioux Falls was northbound on Highway 75 in a 2010 Ford Focus when she lost control of the car, entered the west ditch, and rolled.

According to authorities, Thie was transported to the Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley for treatment of what the report described as “minor” injuries.

Deputies estimate damage to Thie’s Ford at $3-thousand. She was reportedly cited for Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle.  Deputies say  alcohol and distracted driving are believed to have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Sioux County deputies were assisted at the scene by the Hull Fire Department, and the Hull Ambulance.
