Sioux Sheriff Looking For Vehicle, Thief In Two Cases

Orange City, Iowa — The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a vehicle and a potential thief in two separate cases.

In the first case, officials say the took a report on Thursday afternoon, August 20th of a burglary that occurred on Fourth Street in Hull.

Deputies believe the perpetrator or perpetrators entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the street and stole $500 from a wallet and removed the license plate renewal sticker from the rear license plate on a vehicle that was parked on a driveway.

They believe the crime likely occurred on Thursday, August 20 between 12:00 AM and 7:00 AM.

In the second case, officials are searching for a vehicle that was the cause of an accident.

On Saturday afternoon, August 22, they report that 22-year-old Moises Ramos of Sioux Center was driving a 2005 Mitsubishi Galant eastbound on 390th Street, two miles west of Sioux Center, when he reported that he swerved to avoid a white, make and model unknown pickup traveling westbound in the eastbound lane. Ramos lost control of his vehicle, which entered the south ditch and struck a ditch embankment.

No injuries were reported.

The Mitsubishi did sustain about a thousand dollars in damage, but what happened to the white pickup is unknown.

Anyone with information about the white pickup involved this accident is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.

Ramos was cited for driving a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
