Texas Man Goes To Hospital, Jail, After Hospers Disturbance

Hospers, Iowa — A Texas man was taken to the hospital, then to jail, following a disturbance in Hospers late Saturday night.

Sioux County authorities say they received a report of a disturbance at the Hospers Community Center shortly after 11:00 Saturday night. Upon further investigation, deputies say they discovered that 35-year old Sam Moreau, of Odessa, Texas, had become involved in a disturbance with several people. Authorities say through the course of the disturbance, Moreau allegedly assaulted two female victims, when a male intervened to stop the assault by striking Moreau.

Officals say the victims didn’t report any injuries. However, Moreau required medical attention, and was transported by the Hospers Ambulance to the Orange City Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

After his release from medical treatment, deputies say Moreau was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Public Intoxication, and two counts of Assault.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hospers Ambulance.
