The Orange City Police Department provides law enforcement for Alton. Their officers report that they were called about 12:45 AM to the report of an assault that was said to have taken place at the Double D Bar in Alton.

When officers arrived they were told that three Hispanic males had assaulted one of the employees and then ran away on foot until a fourth person driving a PT Cruiser picked them up. The report says that while the officers were still on the scene, the PT Cruiser came back and was stopped. One subject ran from the vehicle and 3 subjects stayed in the vehicle.

Officers believe that two of the passengers in the vehicle were involved in the assault and were arrested. The report says that 21-year-old Tony Chavez and 23-year-old Louis Napple both of Orange City were charged with assault and disorderly conduct.

Officers also believe that the driver of the vehicle, 22-year-old Brandon Holsather of Sioux Falls, SD, was intoxicated, and he was charged with Operating While Intoxicated.

Officers still do not know the identity of the person that ran from the traffic stop. They say the investigation continues.
