Three People Taken To Hospitals After Sanborn Crash

Sanborn, Iowa — A Graettinger man, a Sanborn man, and a passenger in the Sanborn man’s vehicle were taken to hospitals after an accident near Sanborn on Tuesday, October 15, 2019.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that about 9:40 a.m., 48-year-old Jason Park of Graettinger was driving a 1994 GMC SUV eastbound on Highway 18, a mile west of Sanborn. Thirty-eight-year-old Nicholas Sampson of Sanborn was also eastbound on 18 in a 1999 Chevy SUV behind Park.

The report says the vehicles collided.

The Sanborn Ambulance took Park to Sanford Sheldon Hospital. The Sheldon Community Ambulance Team took Sampson and a passenger in the Sampson vehicle, 14-year-old Landen Elwood of Sanborn to Baum Harmon Mercy One Hospital in Primghar.

Park’s GMC SUV sustained $3000 in damages, and Sampson’s Chevy SUV sustained $2000 in damages.

The report says Park was charged with following too closely and Sampson was charged with the use of an electronic communication device.
