Three Sutherland Teens Taken To Hospitals After Accident

Paullina, Iowa– Three Sutherland teens were taken to the hospital after an accident near Paullina.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that about 7:55 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, 15-year-old Josie Guthridge of Sutherland was driving a 2002 Chevy northbound on Roosevelt Avenue, south of Highway 10, about two miles east of Paullina.

The report says that Guthridge lost control of the vehicle, and it rolled into the west ditch. It says the backseat passenger was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected.

Guthridge was transported to the Orange City Health System Hospital. Two passengers, 17-year-old Alisa Clemmons and 15-year-old Nyden Thompson were taken to the Cherokee Regional Medical Center Hospital.

Guthridge’s Chevy was totaled in the accident.

Guthridge was charged with failure to maintain control and the backseat passenger was charged with a seatbelt violation.

Both the Paullina and Sutherland ambulances assisted at the scene.
