Trailer Strikes Vehicle Near Orange City

Sioux Sheriff 84-8 FacebookOrange City, Iowa — A Rock Valley man’s vehicle was damaged in an accident near Orange City on Friday, June 10th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 3:00 pm on Friday, 75-year-old Larry Moret of Boyden was driving a a 2005 Sterling semi‐tractor pulling a gravel trailer northbound on Jackson Avenue, five miles south of Orange City. Thirty-seven-year-old Scott Saeger of Rock Valley was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox northbound on Jackson Avenue following Moret. According to the report, . Moret stopped for the stop sign at Highway 60 and Saeger stopped behind Moret. Moret began driving northbound, stopped for a vehicle on Highway 60, began backing the truck and trailer and struck Saeger.

The Equinox received $2000 damage.

No injuries were reported.
