Two Injured In Boyden Crash

Boyden, Iowa — Two people were transported to the hospital in the aftermath of a two-vehicle crash in Boyden late Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office the crash happened when a 1991 Chevrolet pickup, driven by 51-year old Eric Staufacker of George was eastbound on Highway 18, and slowed to turn left onto Colfax Street, when his pickup was struck from the rear by an eastbound 2004 Oldsmobile minivan, driven by 21-year old Ashley Woelber-Dighton of Cresco, Iowa.

Deputies say both Staufacker and Woelber-Dighton were taken by the Boyden Ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center from treatment of their injuries.

Authorities estimate damage to Staufacker’s pickup at about $15-thousand, with damage to Woelber-Dighton’s minivan estimated at about $12-thousand.

Woelber-Dighton was reportedly ticketed for following too close.
