Two Taken To Hospital After Accident

ambulance-blue-flashing-lightAlton, Iowa — An Alton man and a Le Mars woman were taken to the hospital after an accident on Monday, March 20, 2017 near Alton.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 7:20 a.m., 84-year-old James Nacke of Alton was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla northbound on Highway 60. They say 23-year-old Kalee Staab of Le Mars was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, also northbound on 60 behind Nacke, when she struck the rear of the Toyota.

The Alton Ambulance took Nacke, and the Hospers Ambulance took Staab, both to the Orange City Health System Hospital.

The Toyota sustained approximately $8,000 in damage. The Chevrolet sustained approximately $15,000 in damage.

Staab was cited on a charge of following too closely.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that the Hospers Fire Department, Hospers Ambulance and the Alton Ambulance assisted with the response to the crash.
