Two Vehicle Accident At The Square In Primghar

o'brien county Sheriff EmblemPrimghar, Iowa — A Primghar man’s truck and a Paullina woman’s sedan were damaged in an accident in Primghar on Tuesday, February 25th.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 7:30 am on the 25th, 44-year-old Doyle Logan of Primghar, was eastbound on 1st Street NE in a 2000 Chevrolet truck. Forty-three-year-old Melanie Yates of Paullina, was northbound on Hayes Avenue in a 2012 Dodge sedan in Primghar.

As both vehicles approached the uncontrolled intersection at “the square” east of the court house, the report says Logan was supposed to yield to the right. Logan then struck Yates in the driver’s side causing the her side air bags to deploy on the Dodge.  The car then spun out and struck a fire hydrant causing even more damage to the car, but no damage to the fire hydrant.

Logan’s Chevy received $2,000 damage. Yates’ Dodge received $10,000 damage.

There were no injuries reported.
