Woman Injured In Sibley Collision

Sibley, Iowa — A Sibley woman was injured when her car collided with a minivan Friday afternoon in Sibley.

According to information released by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office the mishap occurred about 3:20 Friday afternoon at the intersection of 7th Street and 10th Avenue in Sibley. According to the report, a 2007 Pontiac G6, driven by 25-year old Karla Gamaz Alvarez of Sibley was westbound on 7th Street, and entered the intersection with 10th Avenue. Deputies say 26-year old Kylee Herrera was northbound on 10th Avenue in a Kia Sedona minivan when she failed to yield the right-of-way at the uncontrolled intersection, and struck Gamaz Alvarez car.

Deputies estimate damage to Gamaz Alvarez Pontiac was estimated to be approximately $25-hundred, with about $1-thousand damage estimated to the Herrera minivan.

Gamaz Alvarez was transported to the Osceola Community Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
