Women From Hartley, Sanborn Taken To Hospital After Crash

Sanborn, Iowa– A Hartley woman and a Sanborn woman were taken to the hospital after an accident near Sanborn.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that about 9:20 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018, 56-year-old Debra Prins of Hartley was driving a 2017 Ford SUV westbound on Highway 18, east of Sanborn. They say 36-year-old Sara Dolphin of Sanborn was also westbound on 18 in a 2005 Cadillac SUV.

The report says that Dolphin was following too closely and attempted to pass where it was prohibited. The front passenger side corner of her vehicle struck the middle driver’s side of Prins’ vehicle.

The Sanborn Ambulance took both Prins and Dolphin to Baum Harmon Mercy Hospital in Primghar.

Prins’ Ford SUV sustained $10,000 in damages, and Dolphin’s Cadillac SUV sustained $5000 in damages.

Dolphin was charged with passing contrary to highway sign or marking.
