Arkansas Man Arrested On Drug, Weapons Charges After Rock Valley Area Traffic Stop

Sioux Sheriff Car 84-Rock Valley, Iowa — An Arkansas man has been arrested on drug, weapons, and other charges after a traffic stop near Rock Valley on Sunday, February 9th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that they arrested 29-year-old James Skoglund of Saint Joe, Arkansas on Sunday evening.

A deputy stopped the vehicle Skoglund was driving, and upon investigation, discovered weapons and drug paraphernalia in Skoglund’s possession.

Skoglund was arrested on charges of illegally carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. He was also cited for speeding, insurance violation, failure to register a motor vehicle and manner of conveyance of a gun.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Rock Valley Police Department.
