Sheldon Woman Taken To Hospital After Accident In Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon woman was taken to the hospital after an accident on Friday, June 27, 2014 in Sheldon.SCAT back 2012

The Sheldon Police Department reports that about 4:50 PM, 19-year-old Lindsey Cuperus of Sheldon was eastbound on Highway 18 near Sheldon High School in a 2010 Dodge. Ninty-one-year-old Vernon Kaiser of Hospers was also eastbound on 18 in front of Cuperus in a 2002 Buick. In front of Kaiser was a 1990 Buick, driven by 46-year-old Shane Nagel of Sheldon.

According to the officer’s report, Nagel had stopped at the 19th Avenue intersection for a red traffic signal. Kaiser had stopped behind Nagel. The police report that Cuperus’s Dodge struck the Kaiser Buick, which struck the Nagel Buick.

A passenger in the Nagel vehicle, 39-year-old Kathy Harn of Sheldon, was transported to Sanford Sheldon by the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team.

Cuperus’s Dodge received $7000 damage. Kaiser’s Buick received $3500 damage. Nagel’s Buick received $1600 in damage.

Cuperus was charged with Failure To Maintain Control and Use of Electronic Communication Device While Driving.
