Define "slowly destroy". Does that mean the fuel system is destroyed before the body rusts off the frame? There are plenty of vehicles around with 200,000 - 300,000 miles that have been running ethanol for 20 years, but the bodies aren't in very good shape.

You do have a choice. There are pumps at every gas station, that do not supply ethanol blended fuel. Use them, and pay more.

You can't have both cheap fuel, and no ethanol in it. So if your personal expertise proves it's that much better for your car, go ahead and support your nearest local arab shiek. They need your $$.

Ethanol gives lower fuel economy, power and range, it will also slowly destroy your fuel system if your vehicle is not made for it. We should have a choice in fuels not be forced to use ethanol because its what our government wants!

Im really surprised that the current administration didn't require all GM vehicles and for that matter U.S. sold vehicles to be Flex Fuel capable. But now that we have more oil in North Dakota than Saudi Arabia, so who needs to worry about peak oil? http://www.forbes.com/sites/kenrapoza/2012/11/12/so-long-middle-eastern-oil-hello-american/
