Accident Near Primghar Sends Royal Man To Hospital, Causes Extensive Damage

Primghar, Iowa — Reaching for a beverage gets the blame for an accident that sent a Royal, Iowa man to the hospital, caused extensive damage to a semi, and destroyed several thousand dollars worth of pigs on Monday, December 23 near Primghar.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 6:00 PM, 26-year-old Eric Nehman was westbound on county road B46 near Primghar in a 2007 Peterbilt semi.
The report says Nehman attempted to grab a beverage from a cooler. At that point the semi crossed the center-line and went into the opposite ditch and rolled.
Nehman was taken to a hospital by the Primghar Ambulance. He was treated and released.
The Peterbilt received $125,000 damage. The report also says $26,000 worth of hogs owned by Christensen Farms were also destroyed in the accident.
No charges were filed.
