Rock Valley and Sioux Center, Iowa — After years of being blocked due to FCC licensure regulations, Verizon Wireless can now be sold in our part of northwest Iowa, and at least one dealer is taking advantage of the fact.
We talked to Steve Harrington with Wireless World in Le Mars. He says it’s been a long time coming, but Verizon services and devices can now be sold in Sioux County, as well as O’Brien, Osceola, and Lyon Counties. He says they’re happy to be bringing two stores to Sioux County.
Not only is Verizon coming to our area, but they are bringing the fastest mobile Internet with them, says Harrington.
He says they have thousands of customers in the area already, but now they will have local stores, local towers, and local numbers.
Harrington says the Sioux Center location will be in the former Walmart store that is now a strip mall, in the same building as the Sioux Center Hy-Vee on Highway 75. He says the Rock Valley store will be in a new strip mall on Highway 18. He says at this time the potential stores in Sheldon and Orange City are in the planning stages, and they hope to be able to release more details on those in the future. He says the potential is there to put stores in Lyon, Osceola and O’Brien Counties as well, but there are no plans at this time that he’s aware of.
He says northwest Iowans should expect everything Verizon can offer.
Harrington says they will also be hiring at both the Rock Valley and Sioux Center locations, and are especially interested if you have experience in the industry. You can either call the Le Mars store at (712) 548-4142 or you can apply online at www.wirelessworldus.com.
