Alert Issued Regarding Possible Suspicious Vehicle Sighting

Date posted - September 20, 2012

Little Rock, Iowa — An alert was issued, then cancelled on Thursday, regarding another sighting of a vehicle that matched the description from one or more of the earlier incidents in northwest Iowa.

Parents of Lyon County school children were alerted by their schools, and subscribers to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office Nixle alerts were also alerted of the sighting, even though Little Rock is in Lyon County.

Lyon County Sheriff Blythe Bloemendaal says it was nothing more than a suspicious vehicle sighting, but to be safe, he alerted the county schools.

The alert from Sioux County advises people that it’s just for their information. It goes on to say that about 12:30 Thursday afternoon, there was an incident at the elementary school in Little Rock. Students were outside for recess when a teacher noticed a gray Dodge Caravan with a dent in the back.

“First she saw it on the north side of the school. It then turned the corner and went on the south side and then she noticed it back on the north side. She started to jog toward the minivan and it took off going south out of Little Rock on Section Line Road at approximately 50 mph.”

In the 3 PM hour, Sioux County sent another Nixle. This time they advised people that it appears that the vehicle in question was a grandparent dropping his grandson off at the school. Pictures of his vehicle were taken and the teacher verified that it was the vehicle she saw.

I am beginning to wonder if this stalker/abductor even exists. Many people have complained about law enforcement’s inability to find this guy. Perhaps law enforcement’s trouble is that they are chasing our imagination, not a real person.

  2. Resident says:

Little Rock had a very real abduction attempt a couple weeks back, however the man was driving a dark car with a white top. I know there was a guy in a big van once that talked to a couple young girls… was it in lake park? However I don’t know about this mini van. Has there been an actual threat with a mini van or people just freaking out?
