All Adopt-A-Family & Sharing Christmas Families Adopted

Northwest Iowa — Northwest Iowa is a community of people who are always willing to go out of their way to help someone who really needs it. That is proven once again by the fact that the O’Brien County Adopt-A-Family, and Osceola County Sharing Family programs have had all of the families on their lists adopted for Christmas, 2017. In case you’re wondering, that’s a total of 174 area families who’ll have a little brighter Christmas this year, thanks to the generosity of their neighbors.

Brenda Collier of Upper Des Moines Opportunity of O’Brien County tells KIWA that the Adopt-A-Family program is truly blessed to receive so many generous donations.

Collier says some of the adopted families have already picked up their packages from the UDMO Office in Primghar, and she says many are brought to tears by the generosity of their neighbors.

Shari Van Engen of UDMO of Osceola County says the story is the same there, with all of her county’s families adopted this year, as well.

Van Engen says Osceola County had more families on the list this year than last.

She says it’s exciting to see the faces of the families when they come in to pick up their gifts.

Collier summed up the feelings of both the Adopt-A-Family and Sharing Christmas programs in one sentence.

KIWA wants to take this opportunity to thank all the donors, as well. May you have a very merry and blessed Christmas.
