All-American Blood Drive During Summer Fun In Sheldon Collects 68 Pints of Blood

Date posted - June 27, 2012

Sheldon, Iowa — Community Blood Bank director Ken Ver Steeg says it was an amazing blood drive event.

The All-American Blood Drive held during Summer Fun in Sheldon on Monday collected a total of 68 units of blood. Ver Steeg says that could save up to 204 patients’ lives. He says 78 people presented to donate and they had 18 new donors.

He says he cannot thank everyone enough for the tremendous support towards the community’s blood supply.

Ver Steeg says the blood supply was depleted due to very high usage during the weekend. This blood drive has truly helped sure-up the blood supply prior to the July 4th holiday.
