Alleged Illegal Alien Living In Sioux Center Arrested

Law Enforcement Lightbar redSioux Center, Iowa — On Wednesday, June 12, at 4:45 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old Walter Martinez‐Lopez of Sioux Center.

The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop that occurred at the intersection of 370th Street and Hickory Avenue, four miles northeast of Sioux Center.

Upon further investigation, the deputy determined that Martinez‐Lopez did not have a valid driver’s license or insurance for the vehicle he was driving and was using the identity of another person.

Martinez‐Lopez was arrested for identity theft, forgery, driving without a valid driver’s license and no motor vehicle insurance.

The case remains under investigation
