Alton Man Injured In Hull Area Accident In Lyon County

Rural Hull, Iowa — An Alton man was injured in an accident just into Lyon County, near Hull on Tuesday night.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 6:20 PM, 19-year-old Travis Even of Alton was driving his 2001 Dodge Ram pickup traveling north on Ironwood Avenue, about five miles northeast of Hull. Forty-eight-year-old Allen VanZanten of Rock Valley was driving his farm truck traveling west on County Road A52, approaching the intersection with Ironwood Avenue.

Even failed to Yield the right of way. The Sheriff’s Office report says Even, QUOTE, “disregarded the clearly marked stop sign”. The vehicles collided in the intersection.

Even was ejected from his vehicle and landed in the south ditch. He was transported to the Sioux Center c Hospital.

the Lyon county Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Hull Fire Department Hull Ambulance and Rescue.
