Alton Woman Arrested On Drug Charges After Driving Complaints

Sioux Sheriff Car 84-Orange City, Iowa — An Alton woman has been arrested, and charged with drug offenses after other motorists reported they were concerned about her driving.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says they received the report on Monday, about 2:45 PM. The report was that a person was driving in an unsafe manner on county road B40, four miles east of Sioux Center.

Upon further investigation deputies found 23-year-old Jennie Knie of Alton had been driving a 2009 Mazda eastbound on B40. Other motorists traveling on the road became concerned about Knie’s alleged unsafe driving and called 911. Knie stopped her vehicle at the intersection of B40 and K64, four miles north of Orange City, where deputies located her in the vehicle. Knie was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and operating while intoxicated-drugged.

The sheriff’s office was assisted in their investigation by the Sioux County drug recognition expert.
