Area Beef Leaders To Be Honored At Cattle Summit

Ames, Iowa — Two northwest Iowans and one northwest Iowa cattle feeding operation are going to be honored next week.

Cattle producers and friends of the industry are being invited to attend the Iowa Cattle Industry Leadership Summit and Political Action Committee (PAC) fundraiser on December 9 and 10. The events will be held at the Hansen Agriculture Student Learning Center in Ames.

The events will include a Cattlemen’s Night Out PAC Fundraiser, the Iowa Cattle Industry Leadership Summit, the annual meeting of the Iowa Beef Industry Council, the beef checkoff, the
Iowa Cattlemen’s Association Policy Meetings, a “State of the Cattle Industry” Panel, and
Cattle Industry Awards.

Cattlemen and women from across the state will be honored with a variety of awards throughout the day. Winners from our area include Hall of Fame inductee Kent Pruismann from Rock Valley; the Iowa Beef Quality Assurance Feedyard Award winner, Rock River Feeders, run by Kent Prusimann of Rock Valley; and the winner of the Iowa Beef Quality Assurance Educator Award, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Beef Specialist, Dr. Beth Doran of Orange City.
