Ashton Man Behind Bars On Two Clay County Warrants

jail behind barsSpencer, Iowa — An Ashton man is behind bars on two Clay County warrants.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reports that 34-year-old Corey Ness of Ashton was taken into custody on Saturday. Their office had received a tip on Ness’ whereabouts, who was wanted on two Clay County arrest warrants for Failure to Comply as a Sex Offender, an Aggravated Misdemeanor, and a mandatory 30 day Mittimus (that’s a jail order) for contempt of court.

The information was passed along to Osceola County and Ness was located. A Clay County Deputy met with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and took Ness into custody. Ness was transported to the Clay County Jail and was booked in.

Ness is currently serving the mandatory 30-day jail sentence and is waiting to appear before the District Judge. A  $2,000 cash or surety bond has been set on On the Failure to Comply warrant.
