Auditors Expanding Hours To Accommodate Absentee Voters

vote 2Northwest Iowa — Unless you’ve been asleep for the past year or so, you’re most likely aware that Tuesday is general election day across the United States.  And, in an effort to make it more convenient for voters to cast absentee ballots, county auditor’s offices will be open expanded hours.

O’Brien County Auditor Barb Rohwer says that her office will be open Saturday, November 5th to accommodate absentee ballot voters.

Rohwer says people who aren’t registered to vote can register when they stop in to cast their absentee ballot.

She says that, in order to register, you will need to have some sort of identification.

Rohwer says the deadline for submitting an absentee ballot in person is 5:00 pm Monday, November 7th.  For those returning an absentee ballot by mail, they must be postmarked on or before Monday, November 7th.

Polls for Tuesday’s general election are open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm.
