Autumn’s Center Receives $2,500 Donation from Spencer Jaycees

Spencer, IA – Autumn’s Center received a $2,500 donation from the Spencer Jaycees’ Triathlon event on June 23, 2018.

Each year, the Spencer Jaycees put on this community event, raising funds to benefit a local organization. This year, the Spencer Jaycees selected Autumn’s Center.

Andrew Colbert, member of the Spencer Jaycees says they are thrilled to be able to assist in the great work that Autumn’s Center does on a daily basis. Autumn’s Center does such great things for the youth in the community and the number of children they help is just extraordinary.

Autumn’s Center is a regional children’s center serving children who have experienced abuse, neglect, bullying, grief, loss, parental substance abuse or who have developmental conditions. Autumn’s Center opened in October of 2016 in Spencer, Iowa and was named in memory and honor of Autumn Elgersma of Orange City, who died from injuries she received at daycare. In 2017 alone, Autumn’s Center served 1,393 individual children.

Christina Eggink-Postma, VP of Program Coordination and Compliance at Seasons Center states that they are grateful for organizations like the Spencer Jaycees who support their agency and the children they serve. Because of donations like these, they are able to continue to serve the many children and families receiving care through Seasons and Autumn’s Center.

The Spencer Jaycees is a service club of young professionals and community members who assist youth in the local community through community events, fundraisers, scholarships, and donations.

Kim Scorza, CEO of Seasons Center thanks everyone at the Spencer Jaycees for raising money at their annual event for Autumn’s Center. They are truly grateful for the community support they receive to help them better serve northwest Iowa children.
