Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon High School students and faculty, along with a contingent of students from the South O’Brien High School, gathered on the east lawn of the Sheldon High School Wednesday morning for a balloon release in memory of a former classmate/team mate, who died this past weekend in a traffic crash in Kansas.
The event allowed classmates and teammates of former Orab wrestler and football player Jake Roos a time to honor his memory.
Roos was a 2017 graduate of Sheldon High School, competing for Sheldon-South O’Brien wrestling team, and playing Orab football.
Funeral services for Roos are scheduled for this Saturday morning at 10:30 at First Reformed Church in Sheldon.
