Barn Near Middleburg Destroyed In Fire

Hull, Iowa — A barn near Middleburg was destroyed in a fire on Saturday afternoon, and four area fire departments were called to help extinguish the blaze.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just before 5:30 p.m., the Hull Fire Department responded to a report of a barn fire on 370th Street, seven miles southeast of Hull.

When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke coming from the roof area. After that, the barn quickly became fully engulfed by fire.

They say that no injuries were reported.

The Sioux Center Fire Department, Boyden Fire Department, and Orange City Fire Department were all called to help.

The Hull Ambulance Squad and the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office also provided assistance.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
