Benefit For Ashya Mack Saturday In Sanborn

Sanborn, Iowa — A benefit will be held this Saturday for 8-year-old Ashya Mack of Sanborn, who is suffering from Sickle Cell Disease, which is a group of inherited red blood cell disorders.

Brittany Koerselman is one of the organizers of the “Ashya’s Run” benefit, and she tells us a little about Ashya.

Koerselman says Saturday’s benefit will begin with a poker run.

She says the benefit will continue with a raffle, and even a dance that will go until 1:30 am.

Koerselman says Ashya’s family really needs your help.

The cost of the poker run is $35, and includes not only the poker run, but also covers admission to the dance, as well as the meal. For those who don’t go on the poker run, the cost for the dance is $15, plus $5 per plate for the meal. If you can’t make it to Saturday’s events, but would like to donate, Koerselman says you can send your donations, made payable to the Mack Fund at Sanborn Savings Bank, 219 Main Street, Sanborn, Iowa 51248.
