Bicyclist Injured In Sibley Area Accident On Highway 60

Sibley, Iowa — A bicyclist was taken to the hospital after an accident near Sibley on Tuesday (7/24).
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reports that 45-year-old Kim Watson of LeMars was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Impala, northbound on Highway 60, near mile marker 49, south of Sibley. Twenty-four-year-old Robert Barr of Omaha, Nebraska was riding a bicycle also northbound on Highway 60 when he was sideswiped by Watson’s vehicle.
Barr was thrown from his bike, landing on the shoulder of the highway. Barr was taken to the Osceola Community Hospital.
Barr’s bicycle sustained about $150 damage. Watson’s vehicle sustained about $750 damage.
Watson was ticketed for Failure to Yield to Over Taking Vehicle.
Sibley Ambulance assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
