Big Sioux River Days Are This Weekend In Hawarden

balloonsHawarden, Iowa — It started as the Calf Festival in 1948, but Hawarden’s Big Sioux River Days has gone through many changes over the years. And it happens every Labor Day Weekend, so it’s time for the festival once again.

That’s from Cathie Brown, who serves as the director of the Hawarden Chamber of Commerce. The three-day weekend gives them a chance to do many events. She says the festival kicks off on Saturday.

She says the events continue on Sunday.

Of course, just like Sheldon Celebration Days, the big day of Hawarden’s Big Sioux River Days is Labor Day Monday, says Brown.
