Boyden, Iowa — A Boyden man was injured shortly before noon Saturday when he lost control of his electric scooter.
Sioux County authorities say the accident happened on Railroad Street in Boyden when an eastbound electric scooter, driven by 64-year old Dwayne VanMeeteren, went out of control, causing VanMeeteren to fall from the vehicle, and strike the pavement.
Deputies say VanMeeteren was transported to the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center by Boyden Ambulance.
Damage to the scooter is estimated at $100. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Boyden Ambulance.
