Car-Deer Accident Near Doon Damages Pella Man’s Car

Doon, Iowa — On Thursday, October 4th, at approximately 9:45 PM the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office investigated a car/deer accident at the intersection of US 75 and 240th Street, three miles northeast of Doon.
They report that 43-year-old Mark A Blankespoor of Pella, IA, was northbound on US 75 at the intersection of 240th Street when a deer came from the east ditch and was struck. Blankespoor was driving a 2011 Ford Fusion which sustained approximately $5000 in damages. Blankespoor was not injured.
