Car Rolls Into Pole, Pole Falls Onto Building

O'Brien Sheriff 71-6Primghar, Iowa — A light pole fell onto a Primghar business after it was struck by a car in Primghar on Monday, November 9th.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 10:48 am on Monday, 50-year-old Jean Leonard was driving a 2007 Dodge Durango, backing up from a parking spot, attempting to go westbound 1st Street Northeast in Primghar. According to the report, the Dodge would not stop rolling backwards and struck a decorative light pole causing to the pole to fall into a Blooms and Heirlooms.

The Dodge received $527 damage. The decorative light pole owned by the city of Primghar received $2339 damage. Blooms and Heirlooms roof received $200 damage.

No injuries were reported
