Doon Man’s Car Damaged In Car Vs. Deer Accident

Doon, Iowa On Wednesday, (01/23/13) at approximately 7:26 A.M. the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of an accident occurring at Grant Avenue and 260th Street involving one vehicle striking a deer.
James Hoogendoorn 66 years of age, from Doon, was driving his 2009 Chevy Impala traveling west on 260th Street just passing Grant Avenue when a deer attempted to run across the road. Hoogendoorn struck the animal.
Hoogendoorn’s Chevy received approximately $4000 damage.
No injuries were reported.
