Hawarden Man’s Pickup Damaged In Accident On Perry Creek Road

Hawarden, Iowa — A Hawarden man’s pickup was damaged in an accident on February 3 near Hawarden.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that about 6:00 AM, 44-year-old Marlin Skogman of Hawarden was northbound on K22, five miles west of Hawarden in a 2006 Dodge.
Skogman reported that the roads were snow-and-ice-covered at that time. He lost control. The pickup entered the east ditch, struck the embankment, and then struck a field fence. It came to rest on the fence line. It was high centered and could not be moved. Skogman says he walked home. He reported the accident 9 hours later.
Skogman’s Dodge received $4500 damage.
There were no injuries reported.
Skogman was charged with failure to maintain control.
