According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2006 Pontiax G6 sedan, driven by 52-year old Debra Bensaida of Hospers was westbound on county blacktop B40, about a half mile east of Jay Avenue, when the car struck a patch of ice, causing Bensaida to lose control, with her car entering the north ditch, where it rolled, coming to rest on it’s top.

Bensaida escaped injury in the crash.  She was ticketed for Failure To Maintain Control.  Damage to the Pontiac was estimated at $6,000.

Troopers say that county blacktops in the area can go from normal driving conditions to 100% packed ice  with no warning, and they advise you to drive with caution.
