sioux county sheriff emblemSioux County, Iowa — Several accident occurred during the afternoon of Tuesday, January 24th in Sioux County.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office that at 3:20 pm, 25-year-old Dillon Boy of Sioux Falls, South Dakota was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Highway 60, one mile east of Alton. According to the report, Boy attempted to enter an exit ramp, lost control of his vehicle, entered the median and struck an Iowa Department of Transportation road sign.

The Chevrolet received $5,000 damage. The road sign received $500 damage.

No injuries were reported.

A Sioux City man was injured after his vehicle rolled south of Ireton on Tuesday.

According to the report, just before 1:00 pm, 36-year-old Nicholas Obbink of Sioux City was driving a 2007 Ford F-150 southbound on Eagle Avenue, three miles south of Ireton. The report continues that Obbink lost control of his vehicle, entered the east ditch and rolled.

Obbink reported minor injuries, but sough medical attention on his own.

The Ford received $25,000 damage.

An Ireton teen escaped injury after running into the rear of a semi-tractor trailer on Tuesday.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just before 1:00 pm, 58-year-old Bill Schlichte of LeMars was driving a 2008 Peterbilt semi-tractor pulling a grain trailer southbound on Dipper Avenue, six miles southwest of Ireton. Fifteen-year-old Evan Jahn of Ireton was driving a 2012 Subaru Impreza southbound on Dipper Avenue behind Schlichte. According to the report, Schlicthe was slowing to turn onto 500th Street when Jahn struck the rear of the trailer.

The Subaru received $5,000 damage.

No injuries were reported.
