Man Leads Cops On Chase In A Car Reported Stolen

Primghar, Iowa — A Sioux City man faces numerous charges for allegedly stealing a car and leading officers on a chase Monday night.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says they received a report at 11:45 p.m. Monday, of a vehicle being stolen from a Primghar residence. The vehicle, a black 2003 Ford Taurus, was reportedly spotted by a Sheriff’s deputy west of Primghar traveling at a high rate of speed. Officials say another deputy sheriff and an Iowa State Trooper joined in the pursuit.
According to deputies, the driver of the vehicle attempted to elude officers and eventually ended up in a field. Officers arrested the driver, who they identified as Keygan S. Egdorf, of Sioux City, in connection with the vehicle theft.
Authorities say Egdorf was charged with Theft 2nd Degree, a felony, Felony Eluding, Driving Under Suspension, Stop Sign Violation and Driving On Wrong Side of Highway. Deputies say they transported Egdorf to the O’Brien County Jail, where he is being held on a $10,000 bond.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was recovered and returned to its owner.
Deputies say Edgord will appear in District Court at a later date.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol.
