Man Taken To Hospital After Motorcycle Accident

Ashton, Iowa — A Sibley man was taken to the hospital after a motorcycle accident on Sunday afternoon, July 26, 2015.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 4:35 PM, 25-year-old Levi Garrett Christensen of Sibley was driving a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on L40, three miles east and a mile north of Ashton. They report that 17-year-old Virginia Joann Reyes of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa was driving a 1998 Jeep Cherokee registered to David Greene of Sioux City eastbound on A34. Reyes stopped at the stop sign at the intersection but thought it was a four-way stop and continued east through the intersection.

Christensen attempted to stop but the motorcycle slid on its left side and struck the rear of the Jeep.

The Sibley Ambulance took Christensen to the Osceola Community Hospital. Reyes was not injured.

The Kawasaki received approximately $4,000 in damage. The Cherokee received approximately $500 in damages.
