Man Taken To Sheldon Hospital After Accident Near Boyden

truck accident 2-27-17Boyden, Iowa — A North Dakota man was taken to the hospital after an accident on Monday, February 27, near Boyden.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 12:35 p.m., 35-year-old Scott Simpson of Oakes, ND was driving a 2006 Volvo semi‐tractor pulling a freight trailer eastbound on Highway 18, about three miles east of Hull,  when he lost control of the vehicle, which entered the south ditch and struck several trees on a farm property.

The Boyden Ambulance took Simpson to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.

The Volvo and trailer sustained approximately $30,000 in damage. Damages to the farm trees and landscape are estimated at $8,000.

The Sheriff’s Office says the Boyden Ambulance and Boyden Fire Department assisted them.

They say the accident remains under investigation.
