Michigan Man Injured in Accident Near Sioux Center

Sioux Sheriff 84-8 FacebookSioux Center, Iowa — A Michigan man was injured in an accident near Sioux Center on Tuesday, June 14th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 5:19 pm on Tuesday, 22-year-old Zachary Labombard of Chesanging, Michigan was driving a 2007 Ford Fusion southbound on Highway 75, one mile south of Sioux Center. According to the report, Labombard lost control of his vehicle, entered the west ditch, struck an Iowa Department of Transportation traffic sign, vaulted a ditch embankment and struck five feeder grain bins on a business property at 4211 Highway 75.

The Ford received $8000 damage; the traffic sign received $200 damage, and the grain bins, owned by Hog Slat, Inc. of Sioux Center received $22,500 damage.

Labombard reported minor injuries and sought medical attention on his own.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department.
