Ocheyedan Man Injured When Vehicle Rolls

O'Brien Sheriff 71-6Hartley, Iowa — An Ocheyedan man was injured in an accident after his car rolled on Wednesday, December 21st near Hartley.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that just after 9:45 pm on the 21st, 36-year-old Charles Tewes of Ocheyedan was driving a 1998 Buick Riviera northbound on White Avenue, northeast of Hartley. According to the report, Tewes drifted off to the right shoulder, lost control and went into the east ditch. The ditch was filled with heavy snow and as the car entered the ditch it impacted the snow and flipped over onto its roof and came to rest in a field east of the roadway. The report continues that Tewes walked to the nearest farm and requested help.

Tewes was taken to the Spencer Hospital by Hartley Ambulance for treatment of his injuries.

The Buick received $1,000 damage.
