Orange City Woman’s Car Damaged In Accident

Orange City, Iowa — On Thursday, October 4 at 8:19 PM, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of 400th Street and Indian Avenue, four miles north of Orange City.

Katelyn Schuller, age 20, of Orange City was driving a 2005 Chevy Cobalt westbound on 400th Street. Keith Schelling, age 24, of Orange City was driving a John Deere 8130 farm tractor pulling a manure spreader westbound on 400th Street ahead of Schuller. Schuller attempted to pass the tractor as the tractor began to make a left turn at Indian Avenue.

When Schuller swerved to avoid a collision she entered the south ditch, colliding with the ditch embankment. No injuries were reported. The Cobalt sustained about $3,000 in damages. Schuller was cited for failure to maintain control.
