Primghar Woman’s Utility Trailer, Car Driven By Sheldon Teen Damaged In Accident Near Orange City

Orange City, Iowa — On Saturday, September 7, at 8:24 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on 400th Street, four miles northeast of Orange City, IA.

Crystal Barcklay, age 49, of Primghar, IA was driving a Ranch Pro riding lawn mower pulling a utility trailer eastbound on 400th Street. Barcklay stopped on the roadway to talk to a passerby. Nicholas Geels, age 16 of Sheldon, IA was driving a 2006 Ford Taurus eastbound on 400th Street; he struck the back of the utility trailer.

No injuries were reported.

The utility trailer sustained approximately $300 in damages. The Taurus sustained an estimated $400 in damages.

Barcklay was cited for improper rear lamps.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol.
