Melvin, Iowa — A Sanborn woman was taken to a hospital after an accident near Melvin last week.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reports that 27-year-old Chelsey Jo Zearing of Sanborn was driving a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder southbound on Highway 59 near 230th Street, two miles west and two miles north of Melvin. According to the report, due to the icy road conditions she lost control and struck a guardrail belonging to the Iowa DOT.
The Sibley Ambulance took Zearing to the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
The report says the Pathfinder received about $15,000 in damage, and the guardrail received about $4,000 in damage.
The Melvin Ambulance crew also assisted at the scene.
