Sheldon Teen Treated For Minor Injuries After Crash

accident wordHospers, Iowa — A Sheldon teen has been injured in a Sioux County traffic crash.

Sioux County authorities say the crash happened Tuesday, February 21st at about 6:50 pm, about five miles west of Hospers on Kingbird Avenue.

According to the accident report, 17-year old Esperansa DeHoogh of Sheldon was northbound on Kingbird in a 2000 Dodge Caravan minivan when she lost control of the vehicle, entered the west ditch, and rolled.

Deputies say DeHoogh was transported to the Orange City Health System Hospital by the Hospers Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.  Her minivan sustained an estimated $5-thousand in damage.

Sioux County deputies were assisted at the scene by the Hospers Fire Department and Hospers Ambulance.
