Sioux Falls Man Injured, But Refuses Treatment After Inwood Area Accident

Inwood, Iowa — A Sioux Falls man was injured in an accident near Inwood on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, but refused medical treatment.Lyon County Sheriff Car Door 60-8

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that 50-year-old Daniel Meinerts of Sioux Falls was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt westbound on A26 near Ashley Avenue. That’s just into Iowa, just east of the Big Sioux River Bridge, near Klondike.

The report says Meinerts became fatigued and lost control after driving onto the north shoulder.

The vehicle rolled down an embankment before coming to rest in the wooded area.

The report says Meinerts received injuries in the accident but refused medical treatment at the scene.

Meinerts’ vehicle was a total loss.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Inwood Body Shop.
