South Dakota Man Arrested For Felony Drunk Driving After Hull Collision

Conrad JohnsHull, Iowa — A Parker, South Dakota man faces felony drunk driving charges after a collision Tuesday near Hull.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, at about 5:25 Tuesday afternoon a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, driven by 19-year old April Bonestroo of Hull,  was westbound on 320th Street, and stopped for the stop sign at the intersection with Highway 75, two miles west of Hull.  Deputies say that a 1999 Honda Civic driven by 29-year old Conrad Johns of Parker, South Dakota was westbound on 320th Street behind Bonestroo.  According to the report, Johns drove to the right of Bonestroo, and struck her vehicle.  Deputies say Johns didn’t stop after striking Bonestroo’s pickup, and continued north on Highway 75.

Authorities say that a deputy attempted to stop the Johns vehicle a short time later, and Johns’ car entered a ditch near 280th Street and Highway 75, and drove through a field before re-entering the roadway.

Deputies say Johns was arrested for 5th Offense (Felony) Drunk Driving, and was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid Driver’s License, Failure To Maintain Control, and No Insurance.

No injuries were reported in the incident, and damage to Bonestroo’s Chevy were estimated at $800, with about $400 damage to Johns’ Honda.
